Ferrari 288GTO

Kit: Fujimi Enthusiast Model No.16
Scale: 1/24
Kit finished: 2000

Fujimi's Enthusiast line of kits must be one of the most detailed range of cars in scale 1/24. Fit of the parts may not be as good as Tamiya's, but these kits are really packed with small parts and details. Enthusiast line dates back to the late eighties. Subjects are European sports cars including almost any type of Porsche 911 until Carrera 3.2, Porsche 356:s, Lamborghini Countaches and Ferraris. Unfortunately Fujimi hasn't got the licence for Ferrari kits for years now and the Ferrari kits are now coming rarer, which is a real shame.

This model was built almost straight from the box, because there really wasn't that much to improve from the basic kit. I don't have 288GTO kits from Revell or Italeri, but judging by pictures I believe Fujimi's 288GTO is the best GTO available.

The kit was painted with a Ferrari red mixed from Tamiya red and orange acrylics. After that the body was polished with a LMG polishing kit and Tamiya rubbing compound.
